Ploughmans Lunch
Enjoy a traditional and hearty Ploughman’s Lunch while travelling along the Severn Valley Railway.
Departing from Kidderminster, enjoy being served a delicious Ploughman’s Lunch whilst dining in our show stopping First Class carriage, taking in the beautiful scenic views from the train.
This experience offers a relaxing and leisurely journey through the Severn valley. The ambiance is tranquil, with the sound of the train gently chugging along the tracks, creating the perfect setting for a memorable day out.
Starting at Kidderminster Station, your train departs at 11.45am. Travelling in reserved seats, this first-class experience allows you to savour your journey into the past in comfort. One of our heritage diesel locomotives will be hauling your train for the first half of the journey, so sit back and relax as you travel through 16 miles of countryside whilst enjoying your lunch.
On arrival at Bridgnorth, there is a break of just under one hour for a chance to explore the station, with its historic pub right on the platform, and nearby ruined castle. At 2.05pm, your train departs, now hauled by a majestic steam locomotive, for the return journey to Kidderminster, arriving back at around 3.20pm, where there’ll be plenty of opportunities to take a photograph with the steam locomotive. Afterwards, why not sample some of the finest local ales and alcoholic beverages in our award-winning King & Castle pub at the station and pick-up a souvenir from the gift shop.
Bookings up until the end of June will be catered for by Paisley Flour. For bookings from 1 July onwards the Ploughman's Lunch will be catered for by the SVR in-house team.
