Vintage Afternoon Tea (Spring/Summer)

Join us for a delightful Vintage Afternoon Tea experience on board the Severn Valley Railway. Travel in style in our luxurious historic carriages and indulge in a delectable spread of sandwiches, cakes, tea, and coffee, all beautifully presented on traditional chinaware and served directly to your table.

Starting at Kidderminster Station, your train departs at 11.45am. Travelling in reserved seats, this first-class experience allows you to savour your journey into the past in comfort. One of our heritage diesel locomotives will be hauling your train for the first half of the journey, so sit back and relax as you travel through 16 miles of countryside whilst enjoying your Vintage Afternoon Tea.

On arrival at Bridgnorth, there is a break of just under one hour for a chance to explore the station, with its historic pub right on the platform, and nearby ruined castle. At 2.05pm, your train departs, now hauled by a majestic steam locomotive, for the return journey to Kidderminster, arriving back at around 3.20pm, where there’ll be plenty of opportunities to take a photograph with the steam locomotive. Afterwards, why not sample some of the finest local ales and alcoholic beverages in our award-winning King & Castle pub at the station and pick-up a souvenir from the gift shop.

Here are some important details to note:

  • Dogs are not allowed on the Afternoon Tea train, except for assistance dogs.
  • We recommend arriving approximately 30 minutes before your selected departure time. Kidderminster and station offer an ANPR-controlled car park for £4 per day.
  • The historic design of our dining car carriages, with narrow doors, gangways, steep steps and fixed tables, means it is not possible to accommodate wheelchairs at a table. If you have accessibility requirements, please contact us prior to booking on 01562 757 900 (Option 2 – Mon to Fri 9.30am to 4.30pm).
  • While we can accommodate most allergen requests, please note that we cannot provide a NUT FREE service due to our preparation areas.
  • To book as a Shareholder or member, or to redeem a Gift Voucher, please contact our team on the number above.
  • If you book four tickets (or two tickets with a table for two supplement) you will be seated on your own table. If you book two tickets without a table supplement, you will be allocated two seats on a table for four sharing with up to two other passengers.
